Scooped Up Kinetic Typography Lyric Video
Scooped Up is a high-energy, 90s-inspired pop punk band from Milford, CT known for their fast, raw sound and free-spirited attitude.

PROJECT: Kinetic typography lyric video
SOFTWARE: After Effects
STYLE: Upbeat & nostalgic

This project transforms “Don’t Wipe” by Scooped Up into a cadence-driven lyric video using only typography, color, and motion timed to each breath and lyric. Built from an initial animatic, the piece uses fast-paced, kinetic type to convey heartbreak and rumination without any imagery.
"Don't Wipe" Music Video
This is original music video that was shot in Queens, NY.  Hundreds of Scooped Up stickers were slapped throughout  the city in rhythm to the beat, which inspired the lyric video to translate that same energy into a focused, typographic visual language.
Band Members
(L-R) Leo Budnick on bass, Jimmy Barbetti on lead vocals and guitar, and Jesse Randolph on the drums. They are 100% DIY and play all across CT and NY!
Storyboard Animatic
My storyboard animatic acted as a timed visual blueprint for my typographic lyric video.
Before moving into the final animation, it helped me map out how the lyrics, pacing, sound, and typography would work together. It bridged the gap between early sketches and the finished piece, giving me space to test the visual rhythm and make adjustments to the storytelling before moving into full production.
